The SunRype Okanagan Marathon will be back for its 24th year in a row on October 6th and 7th.

The two-day event gives runners and walkers the opportunity to participate in an ABC Kids Fun 1km run, 5km and 10km races as well as a half or full marathon.

Known for being one of Western Canada’s flattest and fastest courses, the marathon acts as a Boston Marathon qualifier where runners can take in the picturesque Okanagan Lake before finishing at City Park.

Festivities kick off on October 6th with a kids zone that features inflatables, activities and face painting before the Fun 1km run. The 5km race also takes place on Saturday while the 10km race, half and full marathons start on Sunday.

Some proceeds from the marathon will go towards the Sunshine Foundation which helps children living with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses experience their dreams.
