A former Kelowna Rockets standout is now a member of the Vancouver Canucks organization.

Reid Gardiner has signed with Vancouver's AHL affiliate the Utica Comets on a one-year contract.

The power forward was a key member of Rockets memorable playoff run in 2017 after being traded to Kelowna at the WHL’s trade deadline.

Known for being humble off the ice and a leader on it, Gardiner led the Rockets in scoring during the 2017 playoffs and tallied 258 points overall in his 293 game WHL career.

Last season, the Humboldt, Saskatchewan native split time between two ECHL teams where he put up good numbers collecting 57 points in 58 games.

Gardiner has had a taste of the NHL, the forward began the 2016-17 season with the Penguins, amassing six points in 23 games.
