The West Kelowna Warriors were in action tonight, this time at the snake pit to face-off against the Vernon Vipers.

The game was a defensive battle but, eventually, the Warriors found an offensive spark and won 2-1.

The first period was slow as there were virtual no scoring chances or power-plays. After 20 minutes the two teams were deadlocked at 0.

In the second, the first goal belonged to the Warriors as Lucas Cullen would pick off a pass and snipe it on goalie Bradley Cooper. Late in the period, the Vipers answered back with one of their own thanks to Teddy Wooding.

The Warriors would get the go-ahead goal with just five minutes left in the game thanks to a nifty pass from Chase Dubois springing Lucas Cullen on the breakaway. Cullen's two goals helped him become the first star in the game.

West Kelowna had to play a solid defensive game as they were out-shot 34-29, the team went scoreless on the power-play.

The Warriors next game is Tuesday night versus the Coquitlam Express in West Kelowna. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at Royal LePage Place.
