Highlighted by a 24-9 win over the second-seed Surrey Canadians, the host West Kelowna Dbacks finished with a 2-2 record at the B.C. 13U A East baseball championship tournament on the weekend.

Hanging on to a two-run lead heading into the final inning, the West Kelowna bats caught on fire in the Central Okanagan’s smokey conditions to score 15 runs and cruise to the lopsided victory over Surrey. The win earned them a sixth-place finish.

The Dbacks also recorded a 13-4 triumph over Ridge Meadows Royals in the final game of the four-day, 10-team provincial tournament.

Salmon Arm claimed the B.C. crown by defeating Aldergrove 13-0 in the championship game on Sunday.
