One of the BCHL's top scorers will be heading home next season as West Kelowna Warriors' Mike Hardman announced his verbal commitment to join the Boston College Eagles for the 2019-2020 season.

The 19-year-old forward played with the United States Hockey League's Des Moines Buccaneers last summer before joining the Warriors this season. Since joining the Warriors, the Hanover, Massachusettes product has already doubled his point production compared to his time in the USHL.

Hardman explained that he had a variety of different college offers, but went with his childhood favourite.

“I toured Boston College a couple days ago and absolutely loved it," said Hardman. "The campus was unbelievable, and the hockey facilities were second to none. Growing up in Boston, it’s always been a dream to play hockey at Boston College. Can’t wait to be an Eagle for the next 4 years!”

Hardman is third in BCHL scoring this year with 56 points through 45 games. He is also second in the league in goals scored (29) and first in game-winning goals (8).

Warriors Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood added he was thrilled that Hardman would be able to play hockey in his own backyard.

“We are excited for Mike and his family to announce his commitment to B.C for next season. Mike has been a very important player for us this year and his deserving of the opportunity.”
