Liquid Lightning strikes in Kamloops

It was a banner meet for the Liquid Lightning Swim Club (LLSC) members that travelled to Kamloops on the weekend.

The 24 LLSC swimmers that participated in the 24th annual MJB Classic swam to 146 best times and 12 new club records, as well as a pair of new AA Provincial qualifiers.

Kiana Johnson and Nathaniel Hees each took 12 seconds off one of their best times. For Johnson it was in the 50m freestyle and for Hees it was in the 400m freestyle. Hees also scratched 17 seconds off his 400m individual medley time.

Pierson Piche had a strong weekend, earning six gold medals, three silver medals and two new club records.

Ava and Marc Toyata also swam well in Kamloops, with Ava dropping 10 seconds off her 200m freestyle time while Marc managed to scratch 18 seconds off his 400m freestyle and adding a pair of club records.

Kaitie Mcconechy and Madison Seeley had good weekends as well and are both new AA Provincial qualifiers.

Other team members to shave significant time off their career bests included Liam Colie, Victoria Koehle, Jacob Piche, Samantha Pringle, Emma MacKenzie and Alex Strobel. Meanwhile, Maxime Cousnard and Dylan DaSilva each earned themselves a pair of new club records.

The Kamloops Classic Swimming club won the meet with 73 total medals.
