Further relief to Kelowna’s current rental crisis could soon be on the way.

On Monday, Council gave first reading to the proposed rezoning amendments for a 31-unit rental apartment development on property at 1145 Pacific Ave.

The apartment building would likely be comprised of five one-bedroom units, 21 two-bedroom units and five three- bedroom units.

An existing single family home on the property would have to be demolished to make way for the new building.

However, developers Anagram Properties have requested parking variances and height variances for the project.

Council will hold a public hearing for the development on Jun 12.
