As calendars indicate the end of the summer is near, the weather outside paints a different picture with more than a dozen temperature records being broken on Friday.

In total, 17 weather records were surpassed on Sept. 6, including a trio of historical records on Vancouver Island.
The Esquimalt area set a new record of 29.8℃, while the Gonzales Point area reached 29.8℃ and the Victoria Harbour area reached 29.8℃.
All three of the areas previously had benchmarks that were set in 1898.
Other areas to see temperature records fall include:

- Blue River area (33.2℃) - old record of 33.0℃ set in 1998
- Cache Creek area (34.3℃) - old record of 33.5℃ set in 2019
- Clinton area (30.0℃) - old record of 29.8℃ set in 2006
- Merritt area (34.6℃) - old record of 34.0℃ set in 2003
- Pitt Meadows area (32.4℃) - old record of 30.1℃ set in 2014
- Puntzi Mountain area (31.7℃) - old record of 28.6℃ set in 2006
- Tatlayoko Lake area (30.5℃) - old record of 29.3℃ set in 2014
- Tofino area (27.2℃) - old record of 26.1℃ set in 1987
- Trail area (36.0℃) - old record of 35.0℃ set in 1998
- Victoria area (28.1℃) - old record of 28.0℃ set in 1987
- Victoria Harbour area (29.8℃) - old record of 29.4℃ set in 1898
- West Vancouver area (28.8℃) - old record of 28.5℃ set in 1986
- Whistler area (32.7℃) - old record of 30.9℃ set in 2014
- Williams Lake area (30.5℃) - old record of 28.2℃ set in 2017
