Multiple 126-year-old weather records broken as warm temps continue across BC

As calendars indicate the end of the summer is near, the weather outside paints a different picture with more than a dozen temperature records being broken on Friday.

In total, 17 weather records were surpassed on Sept. 6, including a trio of historical records on Vancouver Island. 

The Esquimalt area set a new record of 29.8℃, while the Gonzales Point area reached 29.8℃ and the Victoria Harbour area reached 29.8℃. 

All three of the areas previously had benchmarks that were set in 1898.
