Update: Highway 5 northbound is now closed as well due to a vehicle incident. No estimated time of opening, assessment of situation is in progress. DriveBC recommends a detour via Highway 5A.

Original Story:

Drivers heading out on Highway 3 towards Princeton from Kelowna or Hope should look into taking a different route as the highway is closed in both directions, six kilometres west of Saturday Creek, South of Princeton to 15 kilometres east of Saturday Creek, because of a vehicle incident.

Estimated time of opening is currently not available as an assessment is in progress.

According to the DriveBC Twitter feed, the highway in the Saturday Creek region, south of Princeton, has been the sight of several concerns involving difficult winter weather earlier today.

Initially, limited traffic was allowed through the area west of Saturday Creek and South of Princeton. However, now the highway remains at a complete standstill until further notice.
