The heavy fog blanketing Kelowna is forcing delays and cancellations at the Kelowna International Airport, causing headaches for some travellers.

Several departures out of YLW have been delayed Monday morning and at least one flight cancelled because of the weather. Planes scheduled to arrive in Kelowna are having an even tougher time with at least half a dozen flights delayed and one cancelled. Visibility at YLW is making it unsafe and difficult for flights to land or take off and the fog is not expected to burn off until the afternoon.

Anyone travelling out of the airport is encouraged to check YLW’s website to ensure their flight times are not delayed. Thus far only flights scheduled to arrive or depart before noon have been affected by the low lying fog.
