It’s only September 2nd but some mountains in BC have received their first snowfall of the season.
Whistler Blackcomb has a fresh dusting of snow at the Whistler Peak as the temperature there is -1.5 degrees. Flakes are also flying at the Roundhouse Lodge, much to the delight of the resort. Whistler isn’t the only mountain to receive an early dumping of snow as a fresh dusting has also landed on Revelstoke Mountain.
The snow has yet to fall at Big White Ski Resort as the temperature on the mountain is still around 6 degrees. It is still too warm for the white stuff to fall. Generally Big White has its season opening day near the end of November, but in 2001/2002 the resort opened on October 20th.
Maybe we'll just skip Fall in #Revelstoke this year? Looking very wintry with new snow overnight! #theRealStoke pic.twitter.com/M6KNkH5tQu

There was also a light dusting of snow at the top of the Coquihalla Mountain Wednesday morning, but luckily none of the white stuff has landed on the highway yet.

It still may be a while before ski and snowboard enthusiasts can hit the mountains for a ride, but the early snow fall in some parts of the province are sure to get people excited for the winter!
