Those travelling from the Okanagan to the Lower Mainland this weekend might have some trouble getting there.

On Friday morning, Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Coquihalla highway, with total amounts of 20-30 cm expected from Hope to Merritt.

An approaching weather system will spread snow along the highway passes in Interior B.C. throughout the day.

Heavy snow is also expected along Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton, with accumulations of 20-30 cm by Saturday morning in the forecast.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow, making travel difficult.

If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit.
