The BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy has issued an air quality advisory for a number of communities.

Areas in the South Okanagan, Similkameen, along with regions like Nicola, Fraser Canyon and Kootenay Lake are anticipated to experience increased smoky conditions.

According to the current Air Quality Data Index, most regions look to remain at a low to moderate health risk.

Those exposed to wildfire smoke, should consider taking extra precautions to reduce exposure.

Wildfire smoke is expected to linger over the next 24-48 hours.
