Today won’t be anything to write home about weather-wise, but the sunshine and warmer temperatures are on the way back just in time for the weekend.

“A broad area of low pressure over southern B.C. will keep clouds and showers in the forecast Thursday,” explains Wesla English, KelownaNow meteorologist. “However, similar to yesterday, breaks of sun are possible between the bands of clouds moving through.”

“This unsettled weather pattern will stay with us for another day or so, but then high pressure will build in this weekend. This will provide a warming and drying trend starting Saturday and into next week.”

So you could probably afford to wear jeans for another day or two, but get those shorts ready for the weekend and beyond.

You won’t need the sunscreen today, as the UV index is only 2 and it’s not expected to rise above that for the rest of the day.

Pollen wise, you could go with or without the allergy medicine today as the pollen index is only moderate.

Enjoy your Thursday, Kelowna! Wesla English will have your full weekend forecast ready for you tomorrow morning.
