We are starting our morning with some cool showers in Kelowna.

As of 6:45 a.m it's 14°C under cloudy skies with light rain falling. The UV index is at 0 but forecast to reach 5 today and the pollen index is low. There is a special air quality statement in effect.

"Expect Sunday morning showers, but the low that is crossing our region will continue to track eastward," says Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist. "Daytime highs will be below seasonal today in the low 20s, but there is a good chance we will see the return of sun by the afternoon."

But this cool weather is set to heat up again as we enter the work week, English adds.

"As the next ridge of high pressure develops over B.C., we will see gradual warming through the first half of the work week with temperatures close to 30°C again by Wednesday."
