The dry trend continues for a second month after another stint of lower than seasonal precipitation amounts.
In January 2021, Kelowna received only 43% of its seasonal precipitation amount.
February 2021 was on a similar course, receiving only 11 mm of precipitation (water equivalent), or about 58% of seasonal.
As for temperatures, our average was 1.9ºC for daytime highs in February 2021, cooler than seasonal conditions of 3.6ºC.
However, overnight lows were right on par with last month’s average at -5.2ºC, compared to seasonal lows of -5.3ºC.
All monthly statistics in this article are based on data from the weather station at UBCO, and the seasonal statistics in this article are based on the Canadian climate normals 1981-2010 data.
The start of March will be mild and dry with temperatures near double digits for afternoon highs.
