To say yesterday was a hot day in Kelowna would be an understatement.

You could fry an egg on the sidewalk on Monday and today will be no different, as the Okanagan is in for another scorcher.

“More heat! Our stretch of beach weather will continue into midweek under an upper ridge,” explains Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist.

“Daytime highs will be in the mid 30s on Tuesday with slightly cooler conditions in the low 30s by Wednesday.”

With that kind of heat, it goes without saying that sunscreen is a must today.

If you want to put a number on it, however, the UV index in Kelowna is expected to get up to nine, which is considered very high.

The pollen index shows another day at moderate for Kelowna, which seems to be a constant trend these days.

If you work outside, make sure you try to find some time out of the sun and drink plenty of water today.

Enjoy the air conditioning if you work indoors and for the rest of you lucky bums who have the day off, head to the beach!
