After a wet start to summer in July, last month was drier than average with only 14.6mm of rain at the Kelowna airport weather station, compared to the August seasonal amount of 32.1mm.

As for temperatures, last month's results were within a couple degrees of seasonal.

The average daytime high in August 2019 was 28.8C and the average overnight low was 10.8C, compared to seasonal maximum and minimum temperatures of 27.6C and 10.6C.

These seasonal temperatures are based on data between the years of 1981 to 2010.

Although we will see sun, clouds and a risk of showers for the first day of September 2019, a stretch of dry and warm weather returns starting Labour Day Monday.
