It hasn’t been the best spring weather wise in the Okanagan.
Numerous days of rain, wind and thunder have contributed to flooding throughout the region over the last couple of months, but it looks like summer is finally here.
According to forecasts from The Weather Network and Environment Canada, Kelowna should see sunshine and warm temperatures until July, with possible showers on Thursday, June 29th.
While it’s hard to predict weather in the Okanagan Valley, the long-term is an encouraging with the official start of summer just one day away.
That first day of summer is also the summer solstice or the longest day of the year for the northern hemisphere.
On Tuesday, the sun will rise at 4:49 a.m. and set at 9:10 p.m., giving Kelowna over 16 hours of daylight.
Temperature wise, there’s a high of 26°C on Tuesday before the highs fall back down into the low 20s for Wednesday and Thursday.
It will jump back to a high of 27°C on Friday, however, which will be followed up with highs of 27°C, 29°C, 31°C, 31°C and 28° between Saturday and Wednesday.
Although many beaches are closed and will remain that way for the coming weeks, there are still plenty of options for summertime fun in Kelowna.
