The Okanagan may not get a white Christmas, but how about a white December 13th?

Kelowna residents have either woken up or will be waking up to snow on the ground this morning.

How much snow will depend on your elevation, but the downtown core has seen a couple of centimetres accumulate overnight.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a chance of flurries until 10 a.m., but it’s unlikely that much more snow will fall.

The real issue will be the slippery side roads during that morning commute as the freezing temperatures have created some icy spots.

For that reason, and to brush the snow off your car, you’ll want to give yourself a few extra minutes to get to work or school this morning.

More flurries are in the Environment Canada forecast for the weekend and they’re expected to continue into next week.
