Kelowna weather: Sunshine hidden by smoke

The sun is up with barely any clouds in the sky to cap off the work week heading into the BC Day long weekend.

Unfortunately, there’s a significant amount of smoke lingering in the valley that is essentially blocking out the sun today.

The smoke forecast shows that there likely won’t be much relief on that front either.

You can still expect some heat beneath all that smoke, as it’s expected to get up over 30°C today, although it may feel a little cooler without the direct impact of the sun.

Expect breezy conditions this afternoon, with northwesterly winds around 20 km/h forecast between 3-8 pm.

Unless those winds push the smoke out of the valley, we’ll be looking at a hazy evening with an overnight low of 16°C.
