It’s going to be another smoky day in Kelowna.
NowMedia meteorologist Wesla English is urging residents to prepare for more haziness.
“A weather system off the coast will attempt to help with the air quality, however, it does not seem to have enough strength to make a significant difference in the near future,” she explained.
“Continue to expect smoke and filtered sunshine.”
The high today will be about 22ºC.
Environment Canada warned that “very heavy smoke” from wildfires in the US will continue to have “extensive impacts” across southern BC.
“Smoky conditions are expected to be variable but persist in areas currently being impacted until Thursday,” the agency explained.
According to the Air Quality Health Index, the Central Okanagan is rated at “10+,” the worst level for air quality.
It carries a “very high” health risk and people exposed to it are urged to keep strenuous activity to a minimum.
