Today is expected to be on the cloudier side, but the sun will be making an appearance shortly.

KelownaNow meteorologist Wesla English says that Mother Nature will take one more day to get rid of this cooler air aloft that causes afternoon instability.

Currently it is 11 C under partly cloudy skies with light winds. The pollen index is very high and UV is currently reporting at 1.

“Expect partly cloudy conditions to start with more cloud in the afternoon,” she says. “The chance of showers and thunderstorms will be on the low side today, and as high pressure builds in this weekend we can expect only sunshine by Sunday.”

Temperatures will get up to 30 C by next week under a strengthening upper ridge, adds English.

So if the cloudy weather has been getting you down, hold tight. Things should clear up and you’ll be back at the beach in no time.
