It's officially sweater season across BC, as an Arctic cold air mass continues to push across the province.
According to Environment Canada, a total of 41 cold temperature records were eclipsed over the last 48 hours.

The coldest location in the province on Wednesday, Oct. 9, was Yoho National Park on the border of BC, where the mercury dipped to a frigid -16.5 °C.
In Vancouver, a 90-year-old cold temperature record was bested when the thermometer plunged below 2°C on Wednesday.

- Hope: 0.1°C (Old record: 2.8°C set in 1960)
- Lytton: -2.3°C (Old record: -1.7°C set in 2009)
- Nanaimo: -1.5°C (Old record: -1.5°C set in 1948)
- Port Alberni: -2.7°C (Old record: -1.1°C set in 1916)
- Port Hardy: -1.8°C (Old record: -0.6°C set in 1972)
- Powell River: -1.4°C (Old record: -0.3°C set in 2008)
- Sechelt: 1.0°C (Old record: 2.0°C set in 2008)
- Squamish: -1.3°C (Old record: 0.9°C set in 2008)
- Victoria: 0.4°C (Old record: 2.2°C set in 1890)
- Vancouver -0.7°C (Old record: -0.6°C set in 1916)
The Old Farmer’s Almanac has predicted a colder than usual winter with an above normal precipitation for BC, so keep those toques handy!
