While Friday's sun and blue sky was a welcomed surprise, expect smoke and clouds across the Okanagan on Saturday, with the potential for clear skies later in the day.

Environment Canada has issued an air quality statement for the North, Central and South Okanagan for Saturday, August 19th.

Temperatures are expected to reach 31.2 C. Northwest winds of up to 20 km/h may help clear cloud and smoke later today.

If you're not bothered by the haze, the weather is still going to be fairly warm, with the sun peaking through.

Here's our weekend beach report.

There's lots on the go in Kelowna today.

Be sure to head over to our events calendar and find something fun to do this weekend!

And if the wind picks up like it did on Friday, Rotary Park is the place to watch the kite surfers take flight.

Keeping in mind that smoke concentrations will vary as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change, take appropriate steps if you have difficulty breathing.

Seek out well-ventilated indoor spaces including libraries, malls, galleries, movie theatres, for example.
