Happy Monday Kelowna, we’re finally going to see some temperatures above zero this week, woo hoo but mix that in with additional snow and we’re bound to see some slushy roads.

According to Environnement Canada, we can expect a mainly cloudy sky today with a high of -3° C. Later in the evening there’s a 40% chance of flurries with winds getting up to 15km/h.

Our highest recorded temperature this week was on Jan 10. back in 2006, when we got up to a spicy 10°C. Wouldn’t that be nice after all this cold?

Yet, we’re anticipating the snow to continue into Tuesday, with periods in the afternoon amounting to about 2 cm. Kelowna will sit at about 0°C throughout the day.

Wednesday there it is, 1°C. It’s not recommended to bust out the shorts quite yet because we’re still anticipating periods of snow or rain. Overnight we’ll be getting down to -1°C with snow to continue.

Thursday, another 60% chance of flurries but at least it’ll be 3°C!  Overnight some cloudy periods, but snow is looking like it’ll hold off going into the weekend.

At Big White Ski Resort, mostly clear weather conditions are expected as a high-pressure ridge moves over the region.

Increasing clouds with a few isolated flurries overnight tonight, but becoming mostly cloudy with scattered flurries over the day tomorrow, giving a total of about 4-8 cm.

Staying in town? Kelowna has got a few things going on, people can register for Escape from Mannequin Madness: An Exit Room Experience. It’s recurring weekly every Thursday until February 24 at the Okanagan Military Museum.

On Thursday evening, you can check out Memphis Blues BBQ down on Bernard Ave for a night of live music. Local singer, songwriter Rick ‘Poppa Dawg’ Halisheff will be taking the stage from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

All weather conditions are taken from the Environment Canada website and have the potential to change over the course of the week. Updated weather forecasts are posted daily on the KelownaNow page here.
