We’ve been telling you over the last two days that Friday and Saturday will be quite hot in the Okanagan.

The thermometers could easily go above 30°C for the first time in 2020, but what’s expected to follow it on Sunday will not be pretty.

After two scorchers in a row, the temperature will fall down into the mid-teens on Sunday and heavy rain is expected as well.

“A significant change in the weather will arrive on Saturday as a low pressure system enters BC from Washington State,” says a weather alert from Environment Canada

“Ahead of the low Saturday afternoon, atmospheric conditions are potentially conducive to strong thunderstorms with frequent lightning and very strong wind gusts. Heavy rain may accompany these storms.”

You won’t even have to wait until Sunday, as a hot Saturday will turn into thunderstorms before the clock strikes midnight.

So get those fun times in the sun out of the way on Friday and Saturday, because Sunday is certainly going to be a day to stay inside and shelter from the storm.
