After a stretch of extreme cold, we are going to get out of the deep freeze this weekend when a southwesterly influence brings in milder air.

No precipitation is expected on Friday and a few sunny breaks are even possible for some areas.

However, more snow is on tap by Saturday morning when the next system rolls in.

Expect a couple to several centimetres by Saturday night.

On Sunday an upper ridge will cut off the moisture, and we will once again see a drier day with mostly cloudy conditions.

Friday’s daytime highs will continue to be well below freezing, but the milder air moving in will bring our daytime highs near freezing by Sunday or Monday.
