A weather system will bring a moderate risk of mixed precipitation to valley areas and snow for high elevations on Friday.

We will be in between systems on Saturday, but then a switch to a northerly flow starting Sunday will usher in cold Arctic air into our region next week.

Parts of the valley will see the coolest temperatures they have seen so far this winter season after the weekend.

In a couple of days, we can expect daytime highs well below freezing, and overnight lows into the minus double digits.
