As George Bluth often said, “there’s always money in the banana stand.”
There is likely not always expensive equipment inside the banana box, but that was the case with a theft in Kamloops last month.
According to the Kamloops RCMP, a banana box full of fruit and a “very expensive produce scanner” was stolen from a store on Summit Drive around 12:15 pm on March 14.
An employee left the produce scanner inside the fruit box and when they returned, the box was gone.
Upon review of security footage, it was discovered that a woman in a bright orange shirt took the box and fled the store.
“Investigators are releasing an image of the woman to the public in hopes that she, or someone who knows her, will contact police so they can further discuss the removal of the box and where the scanner went,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
The woman is described as Caucasian with brown or dirty blonde hair in braided pigtails. The scanner is a black Zebra model with buttons and a handle grip midway down the back.
Anyone with information that could lead investigators to finding this woman or recovering the produce scanner is urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
